They helped define a generation of iconic young writers from the 1980's and were heralded as the Literary Brat Pack of the time (a play off of the onscreen young actors of the day also known as the brat pack)... Brett Ellis-Easton, Jay McInerney, Tama Janowitz and a few others comprised some of the best works of an era. Read these books and get a feel for the dissillusioned culture of NY and LA's party scene and even Wall Street's greed in a time of big egos, big hair, big spending and just about big anything... Almost sounds familiar to our own pre-recession times... Living in excess. It's no wonder punk went mainstream and Seattle grunge took over after this era... Take some time to read these novels as no library is complete without them.
