American Icon: Kurt Cobain

The chucks, the jeans, the flannels, the cardigans, the angst... No one became more of a symbol of Generation X and the early 1990's than Kurt Cobain. He's left an indelible mark on fashion and style since his untimely death... Just look at brands from Converse by John Varvatos to the style of magazines like NYLON and many more figures of popular culture. It's a shame that in his death his name and image has been used to profit so much from a sector of the world he wanted nothing to be a part of. Interesting how fame and stardom and popularity can too often become too much for some to cope with.
